Jillian Antonelli teaches Pilates at 9:30 a.m. on Fridays. It’s exciting to have a wonderful new (to us) practitioner and teacher at the studio!

What is Pilates?
Pilates is a unique method of body conditioning using a series of low impact exercises focused on stretching and strengthening, designed to bring balance and unity to the mind and body. With six principles of center, control, precision, fluidity, breath, and concentration, each exercise uses all of muscles of the body as a comprehensive whole and reawakens those parts that may have become dormant.
Helping to gain awareness of movement, core, and posture, while gaining strength and flexibility, Pilates is beneficial for people of all fitness levels and a great way to learn to connect with your body even during your day to day tasks.
About Jillian Antonelli
After years working in the restaurant industry and carrying heavy trays Jillian began experiencing discomfort in her lower back and shoulders. It was suggested that she begin strengthening her abdominal region to help compensate for the stress being put on her lower back. Finding conventional sit-ups boring and strenuous she soon started taking Pilates classes. She started feeling results right away, and seeing results not long after.
Enthusiastic about her success she couldn’t help but share the exercises she learned with others and became a certified mat Pilates instructor in June of 2013. As well as teaching Pilates, Jillian also assists at a hand blown glass studio in St. Peter’s Village, as well as working at her boyfriend and family’s craft brewery in Douglassville, Hidden River Brewing Company, down the road on Route 724 inside the historic Brinton Lodge. Check it out they use locally sourced organic foods in their wonderful food and beverage creations!
